"power of small change" - Over Three Million Filipino Coins To Break An American Record


A line of 25-Centavo coins stretches through a puddle of water during the attempt to break the Guinness World Record. The American record is currently the equivalent of 64.8 kilometers, the equivalent of 40.2 miles; Filipino organizers aim to line up over three million coins that will stretch 70 kilometers, almost 43.5 miles.The record-breaking attempt, which includes 3.5 million coins in total, is part of the Central Bank of the Philippines' project dubbed, the "power of small change".

More than 1,000 volunteers contributed to the record-breaking effort. Proceeds of the campaign will help build classrooms in the country.
Rain did not deter many of the volunteers
