Honduras has moved towards banning passengers on motorcycles in a bid to crack down on crime. The country's Congress will now make two people riding on a bike illegal, limiting to 1 the number of passengers per motorcycle. The move comes after two high-profile murders in the past week, with officials blaming motorcycle-borne gunmen for both crimes.
The new law will last for six months and was requested by President Porfirio Lobo's government, which is facing rising incidents of crime.
Honduras has the world's highest crime rate - 82 per 100,000 people a year, according the BBC report.
