What You Are Paying for Each Minute Wasted in Parliament

The Rahya Sabha works for an average 5 hours a day, the Lok Sabha for 6 hours a day; a total 11 hours.

Each minute of Parliament in session costs approximately Rs. 29,000.

Since Tuesday  July 21,2015 when the monsoon session began, the Congress-led Opposition has come good on its threat that it will not allow the Houses to function till three top BJP leaders caught in big scandals resign. That has meant about six per cent work and 94 per cent disruption

On Friday July 24,2015,Parliament heads into Day 4 of the monsoon session, with the first three days washed out by protests and adjournments.
Lok Sabha adjourned till Monday July 27,2015 as Opposition protests continue over Lalit Modi, Vyapam controversies

If all 18 working days of this session are disrupted, an estimated Rs. 35 crore of the taxpayer's money will be lost.
