South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley signs bill to remove Confederate flag in South Carolina Friday July 10,2015

 
Indian-American South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has signed into law the bill to remove Confederate flag — considered a symbol of nation’s racist past — from the State Capitol.

Nikki Haley, who initiated the bold move, in the aftermath of the tragic shooting of several black people inside a church.
It was put forward after the flag was linked to a gunman who killed nine people at a Charleston church on June 17,2015

The flag will be removed this morning Friday July 10,2015 10 a.m. local time, and will then be taken to the ‘relic room’ of a military museum in Columbia.

South Carolina's Senate has passed a bill Monday July 06,2015 to remove the Confederate flag from the state capitol in Columbia.

South Carolina’s House of Representatives had passed the vote with 94-20, more than the two-thirds vote needed for approval, paving the way for the removal of the flag.
“The Confederate flag is coming down on the grounds of the South Carolina Statehouse. It is a great day in South Carolina,” South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley said
