Sir Alex Ferguson has said it is "the right time" to retire as Manchester United manager after 26-and-a-half-years.

Ferguson’s first major title with Manchester United came in the 1992-93 season when they beat Blackburn Rovers at Old Trafford on May 3, 1993. Their title was confirmed a day before after Aston Villa lose 1–0 at home to Oldham Athletic

The 1995-96 season saw United win the FA Carling Premiership Trophy, the FA Cup and the FA Charity Shield in Manchester
