PepsiCo inks four-year deal 2016-19 with BCCI as official sponsor

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reaffirmed its partnership with PepsiCo by signing them as their official partner in a four-year deal from 2016 to 2019.

The sponsorship will give new scale and dimension to the partnership and aims to provide the right impetus to the BCCI's efforts towards nurturing support and promoting the game of cricket in India.
Reflecting on the partnership, BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur said,

"We are delighted to have PepsiCo as our official partner. Our partnership with PepsiCo has only grown over the years and we are happy to have them on-board in our efforts of providing the right enablers for the support and promotion of the game of cricket. Over the next four years, the Indian cricket team will play host to all major cricket playing nations and I am thankful to PepsiCo for reiterating their commitment to the cause of Indian cricket."

With the deal, PepsiCo will be the Official Partner for all domestic and International matches (except Indian Premier League) organized by the BCCI in India.

The Company will be the Official Refreshment Partner, Official Snacks Partner and Official Sports Drink Partner.

This will enable PepsiCo to leverage its advantaged portfolio across foods, snacks and sports drinks to cricket fans, consumers in the stadiums.

The agreement also gives PepsiCo benefits of prominence in In-Stadia branding and On-Ground advertising.

Earlier in October 2015, PepsiCo had terminated its five-year contract as the IPL title sponsor, two years ahead of schedule amidst the spot-fixing and betting scandals within the Indian cricket board.

India will host Bangladesh later this year which will be the start of the International season as part of this new partnership with PepsiCo
