The Supreme Court on Thursday set up a six-member team to examine tapes containing conversations between former corporate lobbyist Niira Radia and others.
A bench presided over by Justice G.S. Singhvi asked the team, comprising five officers from the CBI and one from the Income Tax department, to submit its report within four months.
The apex court bench said the team will be supervised by two officers from the CBI who will in turn report to the Superintendent of Police (SP) in the CBI, dealing with the probe in the 2G scam case.
The overall supervision of the scrutiny will be done by the CBI DIG investigating the 2G scandal.
