How world poverty shrunk considerably in last 40 years

About 200 years ago, nearly 80% of the world was living in what is today called extreme poverty. 

By 1975 the world had become a very unequal place.

 The western world, with roughly 25% of global population, was 10 times richer than the rest. 

In four decades since, poverty has fallen by the fastest pace ever to move most of the world—barring parts of south Asia and Africa—out of poverty.
