Pakistan Frees Pervez Musharraf From House Arrest Thursday Nov 07,2013

Pakistan's former military ruler Pervez Musharraf on Thursday Nov 07,2013 has been released from house arrest and is free to move around the country, prison officials say

An Islamabad district court on Monday Nov 04,2013 granted the 70-year-old bail over a deadly raid on a radical mosque in the capital in 2007, the last of the cases against him dating back to his 1999-2008 rule.

It comes days after he was bailed over the 2007 army operation to oust militants from Islamabad's Red Mosque - the last legal case against him.

But the former general remains on a government exit control list and cannot leave the country.

Note
Musharraf has faced charges over former prime minister Benazir Bhutto's murder at an election rally in 2007, the death of a Baluch rebel leader in 2006 and the detention of judges in 2007.

He was put under house arrest in April 2013 an unprecedented move against a former army chief in a country where the military holds huge power
