2019 Delhi Lok Sabh Election Results Thursday May 23,2019 - BJP Sweeps Delhi leading in all the 7 LS Constituencies

Seven constituencies from Delhi went to the polls on May 12, 2019 in a single phase.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Indian National Congress (INC) are the main contenders fighting from the Union Territory to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha.

While the BJP is a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), and the INC is with the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), the AAP is riding solo.

Delhi witnessed a voter turnout of around 60% this year, a drop of nearly 5% from the 2014 elections.

This year, 164 candidates, of which 18 are women, are competing from the Union Territory. Some of the key candidates from Delhi include former cricketer Gautam Gambhir (BJP), political activist Atishi Marlena (AAP), former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit (INC), singer and actor Manoj Tiwari (BJP), and professional boxer Vijender Singh (INC).

The BJP has swept Delhi as of 2 p.m., leading in 7 out of its 7 Lok Sabha seats. Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress both have failed to lead in even a single seat.

The 2019 Exit polls had predicted the BJP's win in 6 of the 7 seats.

In the 2014 Parliamentary polls too, the BJP had won all 7 seats. However, in the Assembly elections held in the national capital the following year, the AAP had won a landslide victory, winning 67 out of 70 seats.
