Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2013 - Jan 11-13,2013


Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit(VGGIS) is a biennial summit organized by Gujarat State Govt. in India to attract Foreign Investment  for development of Gujarat.

Based on the theme–Gujarat Going Global and aimed at bringing together business leaders, investors, corporations, thought leaders, policy and opinion makers; the summit served as a perfect platform to understand and explore business opportunities with the State of Gujarat.

First VGGSIS  in 2003- Signed 76 MOUs worth US $14 billion
Second VGGSIS in 2005  - Signed MOUs for setting up projects worth INR 870 Billion
Third VGGSIS in 2007 - Signed 343 MOUs worth Rs 461835 crores
Fourth VGGSIS in2009 - Signed 8668 MOUs having total investment of Rs.12,24,482 crores
Fifth VGGSIS in 2011 was held on Jan 12-13, 2011 at Mahatma Mandir,Gandhi Nagar investment and had investment commitments of Rs 20.83 lakh crore. Nearly 8,000 MoUs were also signed by by corporates in 2011

During his inaugural speech, Gujarat CM Narendra Modi said: "I reiterate that this event is not just about investments, its not just about projects which give financial returns''


 

The number of delegates this time is over 15,000 more than the last time's 52,000.
First day of the 6th 'Vibrant Gujarat' saw investment commitments of Rs 28,000 crore from corporates such as Essar, ABG Shipyard, Jubilant Lifescience and Adanis
HDFC Bank will open 250 branches in the state over the next three years
Reliance Industries committed further investment of Rs 500 crore in Pandit Dindayal Upadhayay Petroleum University.
Essar Group will make a fresh investment of Rs 14,000 crore in the state's port sector and water supply projects
ABG Shipyard,India's largest private shipbuilder plans to invest Rs 7,000 crore in Gujarat for setting up a new facility as well as augmenting capacity at two existing units in the state.
