The revamped Ranji Trophy started on November 2,2012.
27 Ranji teams have been divided into three groups of 9 each.
The top 3 teams from Group A and B, and the top two from Group C, will qualify for the quarter-finals of the Ranji Trophy.
Defending Champions Rajasthan are part of Group A, together with three other teams - Mumbai, Hyderabad and Madhya Pradesh - who qualified for the knockouts the previous season.
Group B includes the Runners-up Tamil Nadu, as well as Haryana, Maharashtra and Karnataka
A total of 103 first-class matches will be played in less than three months.

Wasim Jaffer accomplished two unique landmarks — of becoming both the highest run-getter and century-maker in Ranji Trophy — thanks to his knock of 132 against Saurashtra on Sunday Jan 27,2013
In the process, Wasim Jaffer overtook his former Mumbai teammate Amol Muzumdar's aggregate of 9105 runs, and also Delhi's Ajay Sharma's tally of 31 hundreds. Jaffer, who made his Ranji debut in 1996-97, is in his 17th season with Mumbai. He has also led Mumbai to two Ranji titles, in 2008-09 & 2009-10.
