2013 Petrol Price Hike

 

Petrol price has been increased by 35 paise per litre with effect from midnight of Jan 15,2013

  Petrol Price Hiked by Rs 1.50 per Litre - Feb 15,2013

 

Petrol price was on Friday Feb 15,2013 hiked by Rs 1.50 per litre and diesel by 45 paise a litre with effect from midnight tonight. 


 

The petrol rates have been revised in step with the steep rise in international rates, oil firms used the newly accorded freedom to increase diesel price in small dozes to effect the second price adjustment in one month

 

Petrol price hiked by Rs 1.40 per litre -Friday March 1,2013

 

Petrol price was on Friday hiked by Rs 1.40 per litre necessiated by rise in international oil prices and depreciation in rupee have necessitated.The hike is excluding local sales tax or VAT

 The price increase has been necessitated by two factors - the international gasoline (petrol) prices have increased from $128.57 per barrel to $131.00 a barrel since the last revision; and the rupee has depreciated from Rs 53.43 to Rs 54.15 per US Dollar during the period

The previous petrol price hike was Rs 1.50 a litre, excluding VAT, on February 16,2013

 Petrol Price Reduced - Friday March 15,2013

 

 


Petrol price was on Friday cut by Rs. 2 per litre with effect from midnight on Friday night, the steepest reduction in rates in nine months.However,there will be no change in diesel rates.

The cut in petrol price follows two rounds of hike in rates since February. Petrol price was hiked by Rs. 1.50 a litre on February 16 and then by Rs. 1.40 per litre from March 2. Both the increases were excluding local VAT

The reduction in rates was possible as international oil prices have eased. While the slide in international prices of crude oil from $112.73 per barrel to $107.41 enabled reduction in petrol prices, it also helped lower losses on diesel sales

Petrol price cut by 85 paise per litre - Monday April 1,2013 

Petrol price was on Monday April 1,2013 cut by 85 paise per litre with effect from midnight on Monday, the second reduction in rates in two weeks.
The price cut, which was made possible because of fall in international oil prices, is excluding local sales tax or VAT.

Petrol price was on Monday April 16,2013 cut by Re. 1 per litre, effective midnight tonight - the third reduction in rates in one month.
The price cut, which was made possible because of fall in international oil prices, excludes local sales tax or VAT.


Petrol price cut by Re 3 per litre - Tuesday April 30,2013



Today's price cut comes after three consecutive rate reductions on the back of falling international oil prices.The price cut announced today is the steepest since December 2008 when rates were slashed by Rs 5 to Rs 45.62 per litre. 










 This is the third reduction in April 2013 -
April 2,2013 - price reduced by 0.85 paise/litre and
April 15,2013 -price reduced by Re 1/litre

Reasons for the reduction -
Indian Oil Corp(IOC)said since the last price change, international prices have declined from $116.61 per barrel to $107 a barrel.
Rupee-US dollar exchange rate too improved from Rs.54.51 to a US dollar to Rs.54.26.

Petrol Price Hiked by 0.75 paise/litre - Friday May 31,2013
Petrol price was hiked by 75 paisa per litre on Friday.The increase in rates, which are excluding local sales tax or VAT, will be effective from midnight- IOC statement said

Following the revision, every litre of petrol will cost Rs. 63.99 in Delhi, Rs. 70.68 in Mumbai, Rs. 66.85 in Chennai and Rs. 71.29 in Kolkata

The increase in petrol price is the first in three months, the last hike being on March 1. Since then, petrol prices had been cut four times on falling global oil prices

Also Diesel Price Hiked by 0.50 paise/litre as rupee hit 11-month low making oil imports costlier.This is the 5th increase in Diesel Prices this year

The per litre cost of diesel from Saturday would stand revised to Rs. 50.25 in Delhi, Rs. 56.66 in Mumbai, Rs. 53.53 in Chennai and Rs. 54.56 in Kolkata from Saturday


Petrol prices hiked by Rs 2 per litre -SaturdayJune 15,2013

 

Oil marketing companies have decided to increase petrol prices by up to Rs 2 per litre, excluding VAT, on Saturday as the weakening rupee is making oil imports costlier.

Petrol price revision will be effective from midnight of June 15,2013 and the increased prices will come into effect from June 16,2013

Following are the revised prices of petrol in four metros after oil firms hiked rates with effective from midnight tonight.

Petrol price hiked by Rs 1.82 a litre Friday June 28,2013

 

Oil companies raised petrol rates by Rs. 1.82 a litre, excluding local sales tax or VAT, with effect from midnight Friday June 28,2013
The revision in prices as per the practice of changing rates in line with cost every fortnight, was due on Sunday June 30 but were raised on Friday

 Petrol Price Hiked by Rs1.55/Litre(excluding taxes) Sunday July 14,2013

 

Oil companies today hiked the price of petrol by a steep Rs.1.55 a litre, without taxes, as the falling rupee made imports costlier.The new price will take effect from Sunday midnight.

The revision in prices, as per the practice of changing rates in line with cost every fortnight, was due on Tuesday, July 16, but has occurred a day earlier.

This is the 4th increase in rates in since June 2013 thanks to depreciation of the rupee against dollar.

Oil firms had on June 1 raised the price of the fuel by 75 paise, excluding VAT, and followed it with a Rs.2 per litre increase on June 16 and a Rs.1.82 on June 29,2013

Note

With the latest increase, all of the gains made from four reductions in prices earlier this year had been neutralised.

The rates cuts had brought down the price to Rs.63.01 at the beginning of May 2013

Petrol Price Hiked by 0.70 paise/litre Wednesday July 31,2013
Petrol price was hiked by 70 paisa per litre on Wednesday July 31,2013, the fifth increase in rates in two months, and diesel by 50 paisa per litre on firming international oil prices.
The increase in rates, which will be effective midnight tonight, are excluding local sales tax or VAT. The actual hike will be higher and will vary from city to city

This is the 5th increase in rates since June 2013 and in all petrol prices have gone up by Rs. 6.82 per litre. Oil firms had on June 1 raised prices by 75 paise, excluding VAT, and followed it with a Rs. 2 per litre increase on June 16, a Rs. 1.82 increase on June 29, and Rs. 1.55 hike on July 15,2013

Petrol Price was today hiked by a steep Rs 2.35 per litre, the 6th increase in rates in three months.The increase in rates, which will be effective midnight tonight Saturday Aug 31,2013, are excluding local sales tax or VAT

Petrol price hiked by Rs. 1.63 per litre Friday Sep 13,2013

 

Petrol prices were on Friday Sep 13,2013 hiked by Rs 1.63 per litre — the 7th increase since June — on the back of rising oil rates and the falling rupee. 
With this increase, petrol prices have gone up by a massive Rs. 10.80 per litre since June, excluding VAT
The increase excludes local sales tax or VAT and will come into effect from midnight on Saturday Sep 14,2013 oil firms said.

Petrol Price Reduced by Rs3.05/litre Monday Sep 30,2013

Petrol price was on Monday Sep 30,2013 reduced by Rs 3.05 per litre, the first reduction in rates in over five months and the steepest in over five years

Since June 2013 petrol prices have been raised 7 times, totalling Rs. 10.80 per litre, excluding VAT (Rs. 13.06 after including state tax) as the rupee depreciated sharply against the rupee

The price changes announced by oil companies are excluding local sales tax or VAT and will be effective midnight tonight Monday Sep 30,2013

The decrease in petrol prices has now become feasible because of reduction of motor spirit prices from about USD 117 per barrel to about USD 113 and appreciation of rupee against Dollar from about 66 to a dollar to about 63

Petrol price cut by Rs. 1.15 a litre Thursday Oct 31,2013


The state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) on Thursday Oct 31,2013 announced reduction of Rs. 1.15 a litre in price of petrol
The price changes are excluding local sales tax or VAT, the OMCs said.
