Christine Marie "Chris" Evert (USA)(born December 21, 1954) has won 18 Gran Slam Singles Titles including a record 7 championships at the French Open and a record 6 championships at the US Open.She won the US Open consecutively for 4 years 1975-78 and also has reached the finals of US Open for 6 consecutive years 1975-80. She was the year-ending World No. 1 singles player in 1975, 1976, 1977, 1980, and 1981.Chris Evert never lost in the first or second rounds of a Grand Slam singles tournament.Chris Evert's career win–loss record in singles matches of 1,309–146 (89.96%) is the best of any professional player man or woman in the Open Era. On Clay Courts her career match win loss rate of 94.05% (316/20) remains a WTA record.


 Stefanie Maria Graf (Germany)(born 14 June 1969)Graf was ranked World No. 1 by theWTA for a record 377 total weeks—the longest period for which any player, male or female, has held the number one ranking since the WTA and the Association of Tennis Professionals began issuing rankings.
In 1988, she became the first and only tennis player (male or female) to achieve the Calendar Year Golden Slam by winning all 4 Grand Slam singles titles and the Olympic gold medal in the same calendar year.
Steffi Graf retired in 1999 while she was ranked World No. 3. She married former World No. 1 men's tennis player Andre Agassi  in October 2001 and they have two children, Jaden Gil and Jaz Elle



Gabriela Beatriz Sabatini(Argentina)(born 16 May 1970) was one of the leading players on the women's circuit in the late-1980s and early-1990s.She was ranked the World No. 1 junior player in 1984.In 1985, aged 15 years and 3 weeks, Sabatini became the youngest-ever player to reach the semifinals at the French Open. She has won 6 major international junior titles, including the French Open.In 1988 she won the Wimbledon doubles title partnering Steffi Graff.She has won the 1990 US Open defeating Steffi Graf. Sabatini retired from the professional tour in 1996, having won 27 singles titles and 14 doubles titles.


 Aránzazu 'Arantxa' Isabel Maria Sánchez Vicario(Spain)(born December 18, 1971) is a Spanish former professional tennis player. She has won 4 Grand Slam singles titles-1989;1994 &1998 French Open and 1994 US Open ;6 Grand Slam women's doubles titles - 1992 Australian Open;1993 US Open;1994 US Open;1995 Australian Open and Wimbledon and 1996 Australian Open and 4 Grand Slam mixed doubles titles -1990 & 1992 French Open;1993 Australian Open and 2000 US Open.



 Inmaculada Concepción ("Conchita") Martínez Bernat (Spain)(born 16 April 1972) is the only Spanish woman to have won the singles title at  1994 Wimbledon Women's Singles when she beat Martina Navaratilova.



 Lindsay Ann Davenport(USA) (born June 8, 1976) is a former World No. 1 American professional tennis player. She has won 3 Grand Slam  singles tournaments - 1998 US open;1999 Wimbledon and 2000 Australian Open and an Olympic gold medal in singles.She is one of only four women (the others being Steffi Graf,Martina Navrtilova and Chris Evert) since 1975 who has been the year-end World No. 1 at least four times. Davenport finished 1998, 2001, 2004, and 2005 as the top ranked player.


 Amélie Simone Mauresmo(France) (born 5 July 1979) is a French former professional Tennis player, and a formerWorld No.1.She has won2 Grand Slam singles titles - 2006 Wimbledon Women's Singles Title and 2006 Australian Open.She officially announced her retirement from professional tennis in 2009.









Monica Seles(Yugoslavia)(born December 2, 1973) has won 9 Grand Slam singles titles, winning 8 of them while a citizen of Yugoslavia and 1 while a citizen of the United States(became a USA citizen in 1994).She became the youngest-ever champion at the1990 French Open  at the age of 16. She was the World No. 1 player in the women's game during 1991 and 1992, but in 1993 she was forced out of the sport for more than 2 years following an on-court -attack  in which a man stabbed her in the back with a 9-inch-long knife.


Martina Hingis(Switzerland)(born 30 September 1980) In 1996, Hingis became the youngest Grand Slam champion of all time, when she teamed with Helena Sukova at Wimbledon  to win the women's doubles title at the age of 15 years and 9 months.In 1997,she then became the youngest singles winner in the 20th century by winning the Australian Open at age 16 years and 3 months (beating former champion Mary Pierce in the final).In 1998, Hingis won all four of the Grand Slam women's doubles titles, only the fourth in women's tennis history to do so and she became only the third woman to simultaneously hold the No. 1 ranking in both singles and doubles.In February 2003, at the age of 22, Hingis announced her retirement from tennis, due to her injuries.


Anna Kournikova(Russia) Kournikova's specialty has been doubles, where she has at times been the World No. 1 player. With Martina Hingis as her partner, she won Grand Slam titles in Australia in 1999 and 2002.Her celebrity status made her one of the best known tennis players worldwide. At the peak of her fame, fans looking for images of Kournikova made her name one of the most common search strings on the Internet.

Maria Sharapova(Russia) (born April 19, 1987) is a Russian professional tennis player and USA Citizen since 1994.(WTA) has ranked Sharapova World No 1 in singles on four separate occasions.She has won 24singles titles, including 3 Grand Slam titles- Wimbledon(2004);US Open(2006) and Australian Open(2008).Sharapova's public profile extends beyond tennis, as she has been featured in a number of modeling assignments.In June 2011, she was named one of the "30 Legends of Women's Tennis: Past, Present and Future" by 'TIME''

Mary Pierce (born 15 January 1975)She is a citizen of  France,Canada and USA but plays for France in team competitions and the Olympics.She has won 4 Grand Slam Titles - 2 in Singles(1995 Australian Open and 2000 French Open) and 2 in Doubles(2000 French Open partnering Martina Hingis and 2005 Wimbledon Mixed Doubles partnering with Mahesh Bhupathi)
 Justine Henin(Belgium) (born 1 June 1982)has won 43 WTA singles titles and 7 Grand Slam singles titles, including 4  French Open  titles, 1 Australian Open title, and 2 US Open titles.On 26 January 2011, she announced that she had been forced to retire from professional tennis once again because of an elbow injury.

In June 2011, she was named one of the "30 Legends of Women's Tennis: Past, Present and Future" by 'Time' magazine.

Daniela Hantuchová(Slovakia)(born April 23, 1983)is a Slovak professional tennis player.In 2005, she became the 5th female tennis player to have won the mixed doubles title in all 4 Grand Slam tournaments.









Caroline Wozniacki(Denmark)  has won 6 WTA Tour events and was the runner up at the 2009 US Open.
 Ana Ivanovic(Serbia:)has won the 2008 French Open and was the runner-up in singles at the 2007 French Open and the 2008 Australian Open
 Maria Kirilenko(Russia) has won her first WTA Tour title in 2005, defeating Anna-Lena Grönefeld in the China Open; won the junior event at the 2002 Canadian Open, as well as the 2002 US Open junior tournament and has reached one Grand Slam quarterfinal at the 2010 Australian Open
  
Sania Mirza(India) holds the distinction of being the first Indian woman to be seeded in a Grand Slam tennis tournament and is the highest ranked female tennis player ever from India.She was the 1st Indian woman to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament at the 2005 U.S. Open.
In winning the Mixed Doubles(with Mahesh Bhupathi) event at the 2009 Australian Open, she became the first Indian woman to win any grand slam event.

Jelena Jankovic(Serbia) (born February 28,1985)was the year-end World No. 1 in 2008, the first player in the history of the WTA tour to do this without winning a Grand Slam title.She is one of only seven players who has defeated both William Sisters at the same tournament and one of three players who were World No.1 and as a junior and a senior



 Francesca Schiavone(Italy) (born 23 June 1980) has won the 2010 French Open Singles Title and became the 1st Italian woman to win a Grand Slam event in singles.

Caroline Wozniacki (Denmark)(born 11 July 1990)Since her WTA debut in 2005, she has improved her year-end ranking each year until finishing on top in 2010.She has won 18 WTA Singles Titles  as of August 2011- 3 in 2008 ,3 in 2009 , 6in 2010 (the most since Justin Henin's 10 in 2007), and 6 in 2011.She won the 2006 Wimbledon Girls Singles Title and was Runner-Up at the 2009 US Open.


Elena Viatcheslavovna Dementieva(born 15 October 1981) is a retired Russian Professional Player.She has rerached the finals of the 2004 French Open and 2004 US Open.She is most notable for winning the singles gold medal at the 2008 Olympics at Beijing,China.Dementieva achieved a career-high ranking of World No. 3, which was accomplished on 6 April 2009.She announced her retirement on 29 October 201 ending her caree rank at World No. 9.

Ana Ivanović(Serbia)(born November 6, 1987)She has won the 2008 French Open and was Runner-Up at the 2007 French Open and Runner-Up at the 2008 Australian Open.





Maria Yuryevna Kirilenko(Russia) (born 25 January 1987) is a Russian professional tennis player.She has won the junior event at the 2002 Canadian Open, as well as the 2002 US Open junior tournament.



     
Petra Kvitová (Czechoslovakia)(born 8 March 1990) has won the 2011 Wimbledon Women's Singles Title beating Maria Sharapova.

Kim Antonie Lode Clijsters(Belgium)(born 8 June 1983) is a Belgian professional tennis player. As of 12 September 2011, Clijsters is ranked No. 9 in singles. Clijsters is a former World No. 1 in both singles and doubles.In June 2011, TIME magazine named her one of the "30 Legends of Women's Tennis: Past, Present and Future".According to Forbes  in August 2011, she became the fifth highest-paid female athlete over the past year. She has won 4 Grand Slam singles titles: 3 at the US Open, in 2005, 2009 and 2010 and one at the Australian Open in 2011. Also she has won the French Open and Wimbledon titles in 2003.When she won the US Open in 2009 she become the1st unseeded player and the 1st mother to win a major since Evonne Goolagong  in 1980.



  
Svetlana Aleksandrovna Kuznetsova(Russia)(born June 27, 1985) is a Russian professional tennis player.Kuznetsova has appeared in 4singles Grand Slam  finals, winning 2, and has also appeared in 6doubles finals, winning once.When she won the 2004 US Open she became the 3rd Russian woman to win a Grand Slam title(after Anastasia Myskina  and Maria Sharapova who won at the 2004 French Open and 2004 Wimbledon  tournaments respectively).Kuznetzova's second Grand Slam title was the 2009 French Open.
At the 2006 French Open and the 2007 US Open singles tournament she was the runner-up, both times to Justin Henin(Belgium).









Dominika Cibulková(Slovakia) (born 6 May 1989) is a Slovak professional tennis player.She was also a former World Junior No.3 in  2005.Her career-high ranking of World No. 12 was achieved in 2009.Her career best result was reaching the semifinals of the 2009 French Open.






Serena Williams(USA) has been ranked World Number 1 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) on 5 times;has won 25 Grand Slam titles: 12 in singles, eleven in women's doubles and two in mixed doubles;has won two Olympic gold medals in women's doubles;has won more Grand Slam titles than any other female player and has won more career prize money than any other female athlete in history.

Venus Williams(USA) has been ranked World No. 1 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) thrice;has won three Olympic gold medals, one in women's singles and two in women's doubles
