Google Plus sends out its first tweet

 

Nearly four years after setting up its Twitter account, Google Plus- Google's own social networking platform- sent out its first tweet

The Google Plus Twitter account that goes with the handle @GooglePlus was set up in July 2011, but only tweeted on May 1, 2015

Since its launch in June 2011, Google Plus has failed to garner popularity with its 111 million users as of April, 2015, as compared to Facebook that boasts of more than a billion-strong user base and Twitter with its 302 million users.
