Jaipur Metro

 
The Jaipur Metro is a Rapid Transit System under construction in the city of Jaipur,Rajasthan,India

Construction of the elevated part of the first line, called Phase 1A, comprising 9.2 kilometres (5.7 mi) from Mansarovar to Chandpole Bazaar, started on 13 November 2010, and completed in 2014

After receiving safety clearance from Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) in May 2015, Jaipur Metro began commercial service between Chanpole and Mansarovar on June  03,2015

The Jaipur Metro Rail system is India's 6th Metro Rail System after those in -
  • Kolkata
  • Delhi NCR
  • Bangalore
  • Gurgaon and
  • Mumbai 

Jaipur Metro is also touted as one of the fastest built metro systems in India

Jaipur Metro is the first metro in India to run on Double-storey elevated road and Metro track.

The Jaipur Metro is being built in 2 phases. Phase I consists of the Pink Line and Phase II consists of the Orange Line

Currently, the Pink Line is under construction. 

The implementation of Phase 1A of the project (Mansarover to Chandpole having the length of about 9.63 km) including the civil works, permanent way, depot and traction and power supply, etc. was being managed by DMRC

Phase I-A completed 9 stations and 9.63 kilometres (5.98 miles) of route length,of which 0.95 kilometres (0.59 mi) is underground and 9.13 kilometres (5.67 mi) is elevated.

The remainder of the first line, Phase I-B (2.349 kilometres (1.460 mi), 2 stations), is scheduled to be completed by 2018

Phase II (23.099 kilometres (14.353 mi), 20 stations)is planned to be completed by 2021

With the completion of Phases 1 and II, the network will span 35.078 kilometres (21.796 mi) and 31 stations

Jaipur Metro is expected to start commercial runs between Chandpole and Mansarover in  June 2015

The first phase of the Jaipur Metro project, which was initiated by the previous Congress government, is being constructed in two parts -- 1-A and 1-B.
Part 1-A, which is 9.7 km long from Mansarover to Chandpole, will be dedicated on June 3, while the work on 1-B from Chandpole to Badi Chaupad (2.3 km) is going on.

Phase I of the project consists of 12.06km long East-West corridor running from Mansarovar to Badi Chaupar.

The corridor includes two sections, the East West-A (EW-A) from Mansarovar to Chandpole and East West-B (EW-B) from Chandpole to Badi Chaupar. It involves the construction of 2.78km of underground sections and 9.27km of elevated segments. Eight elevated stations and three underground stations are built under the first phase.

Phase II will cover the 23km-long North-South corridor from Sitapura Industrial Area to Ambabari. The corridor will include 5km of underground and 18km of elevated sections. The second phase will require the construction of five underground stations and 15 elevated stations.

Phase I development is being carried out in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) mode, while Phase II will be developed on public-private partnership (PPP) basis.

Construction began on the EW-A section in November 2010
