Professional Football Association (PFA) Player of the Year Award

Chelsea pair Diego Costa and Eden HAzard were named on Thursday April 16,2015 on the shortlist for the Professional Football Association (PFA) Player of the Year Award.

Liverpool`s Philippe Coutinho, Manchester United keeper David de Gea, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane and Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez are also on the shortlist.

Chelsea,the Premier League leaders in the current season 2014-15 are the only club to have two players nominated for the end-of-season accolade.

Note

The award has been presented since the 1973-74 season and the winner is chosen by a vote amongst the members of the players' trade union, the Professional Football Association (PFA)

The current holder is Lios Suarez who won the award on 27 April 2014 for his displays throughout the 2013–14 season, representing  Liverpool

Luis Suarez s the 6th Liverpool player to win the award, following in the footsteps of - Terry McDermott,Kenny Dalglish,Ian Rush,John Brnes and Steven Gerrard and the first non-European player to win

As of 2013, only Mar k Hughes,Aan Shearer,Thiery Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale have won the award on two occasions, and only Thiey Henry and Cristiano Ronaldo have won the award in consecutive seasons.

Although there is a separate PFA Young Player of the Tear award for players under the age of 23, young players remain eligible to win the senior award, and on 3 occasions the same player has won both awards for a season,Andy Gray in 1976–77,Cristiano Ronaldo in 2006–07 and Gareth Bale in 2012–13
