The Union Cabinet gave its approval on Thursday Sep 04,2014 for the release of a 7
per cent additional instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central
Government employees. It also approved Dearness Relief (DR) for
pensioners. Both DA and DR will become effective from July 1, 2014.
This is an increase of 7% over the existing rate of 100 % of the Basic Pay/Pension to compensate for price rise
