HDFC Asset Management Company (HDFC AMC) IPO subscribed by more than 83 times

The initial public offer (IPO) of HDFC Asset Management Company (HDFC AMC) has been subscribed by more than 83 times with bids worth more than ₹1.72 lakh crore received as against the issue size of nearly ₹2,800 crore.

The IPO saw significant amount of interest across investor categories with the institutional segment getting subscribed almost 193 times. The portion reserved for high net worth individuals was subscribed by more than 195 times, while retail segment remained oversubscribed at almost 6.5 times till 6 p.m. The final numbers could change slightly as all the last day bids are entered into the system. As per NSE data, bids were received for 156.17 crore shares against 1.88 crore shares on offer in the price band of ₹1,095 to ₹1,100.

HDFC AMC is also the second fund house to enter the capital market after the public issue of Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management came in October 2017. Incidentally, Reliance Nippon Life AMC IPO also saw a strong response from investors with the issue getting subscribed by more than 81 times
