Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao on Thursday Feb 16,2017 invited AIADMK legislature party leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami to form the government in Tamil Nadu.
A statement from the Raj Bhavan said, "Hon'be Governor has requested the Chief Minister-designate, Thiru Edappadi K. Palaniswami to seek the vote of confidence of the Assembly within 15 days."

Edappadi K Palaniswami, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's (AIADMK) general secretary VK Sasikala`s choice, will be sworn in on Thursday evening as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the Raj Bhavan announced.
