12 AIADMK MPs, belonging to the O Panneerselvam group, met President Pranab Mukerjee in New Delhi and handed over a petition seeking a probe into the medical treatment provided to former chief minister J Jayalalithaa before her demise on December 505,2016
The group also sought a probe into the "incidents that occurred at Jayalalithaa's Poes Garden residence on September 22 before she was admitted to hospital and who gave them permission to stop the treatment on December 5."
Of the 12 MPs, 10 are Lok Sabha members and two Rajya Sabha members. The MPs were led by Rajya Sabha MP V Maitreyan.
"There are several doubts about the manner of treatment given to Jayalalithaa and also about her death. Nobody could see her after she was admitted to hospital on September 22. Therefore, there are doubts about the treatment given to her," said Maitreyan, speaking to reporters after meeting the President.
