Edappadi K. Palaniswami took over as Tamil Nadu’s 29th Chief Minister on Thursday Feb 16,2017



He heads a 31-Member Cabinet. Except O. Panneerselvam and Ma Foi K. Pandiarajan, Mr. Palaniswami has retained the outgoing Council of Ministers. K. A. Sengottaiyan is the only new inductee. 
The Governor’s invitation came "in acceptance" of the letter submitted by Mr. Palaniswami on February 14,2017
Dindigul C Sreenivasan designated No. 2 in Cabinet; Sengottaiyan to be School Education Minister and No. 3.

E Palanisami, VK Sasikala's loyalist and nominee for Tamil Nadu CM, has been sworn in as chief minister by Governor C Vidyasagar Rao at 4,40 pm today. He now has 15 days to prove his strength in the floor of the House.
