Every February, Safer Internet Day (SID) is organised by Insafe to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones
In a bid to help users have a safer and more secure online experience, Google is promoting the idea by offering users a chance to get 2 GB to their Google Drive storage for free.
All that one needs to do is run the 2-minute security check of their Google account and that's it, Google will immediately add the free storage. The security checkup is related to recovery information, connected devices, and account permissions.
Google also has a dedicated list of tips to help users stay safe online. You can check the list here
With internet being a major component of modern communication, user safety has become a prime concern. From personal information to more classified details related to national security, robust security is crucial when it comes to the online exchange of information.
The www.saferinternetday.org website will also showcase all events and activities being organised across the globe to mark the day.
