The new taluks would be created by bifurcating and restructuring some of the existing taluks and revenue divisions.
With this, the total number of taluks in the State would go up from 269 to 285while the number of revenue divisions would go up from 80 to 85.
Making a suo motu statement in the State Assembly, the Chief Minister said, during the past four years, four revenue divisions, 49 new taluks and 59 firkas have been created in the state with a view to expedite the services of the Revenue Department
