Steve Jobs (1955-2011)



Apple Inc co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs died at the age of 56, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer and other health issues
Steven Paul "Steve" Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) was an American computer entrepreneur and innovator.Steve Jobs had no formal schooling in engineering, yet he's listed as the inventor or co-inventor on more than 300 US patents.
Steve Jobs—along with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak,Mike Markkula  and others—designed, developed, and marketed one of the first commercially successful lines of personal computers, the Apple II Series in  1976
In 1984 at the annual sharholder's meeting of APPLE  Steve Jobs introduced the MACINTOSH ,the first commercially successful small computer with a Graphical User Interface



In 1985 after losing a power struggle with the board of directors, Jobs resigned from Apple

and founded NeXT,a Computer Platform Development Company specializing in the higher-education and business markets.The NeXT Computer was a high-end workstation computer developed, manufactured and sold from 1988 until 1990.The NeXT Computer was not a great commercial success. However, some are still used around the world as servers and The NeXT Computer was superseded by the NeXTcube in 1990.

The NeXTcube was a high-end  workstation computer developed, manufactured and sold by NeXT from 1990 until 1993 and was housed in a similar cube-shaped magnesium enclosure.


In 1996 Apple's subsequent buyout of NeXT brought Jobs back to the company he co-founded, and he served as its CEO from 1997 until August 2011(Jobs announced his resignation on August 24,2011)

The iMac is a range of all-in-one Macintosh Desktop Computers built by APPLE and introduced in 1998.Apple declared the 'i' in iMac to stand for "Internet" and  the user needed to go through only two steps to set up and connect to the Internet. "There's no step 3!" was the catch-phrase in a popular iMac commercial.


iPod is a line of portable media players created and marketed by APPLE announced on October 23, 2001, and released on November 10, 2001.There are 4 models -

 The iTunes Store is a software-based online digital media store operated by  APPLE. Opening as the iTunes Music Store on April 28, 2003, with over 200,000 items to purchase.




The iPhone  is a line of Internet and multimedia-enabled smartphones marketed by APPLE. The 1st iPhone was unveiled by Apple CEO Steve Jobs on January 9, 2007, and released on June 29, 2007.
 An iPhone can function as a Video Camera,a Camera Phone,a Portable Media Player and an Internet client with email and Web browsing facilities can send texts and receive visual voicemail and has both Wi-fi and 3G connectivity.There are 5 generations of iPhone Models -

is the 3rd generation of iPhone introduced on June 8,2009 with features of -faster performance,a camera with higher resolution and video capability

is a touchscreen smart phone and is the 4th generation of iPhone released on June 24, 2010, in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Japan. It is particularly marketed for video calling, consumption of media such as books and periodicals, movies, music, and games, and for general web and e-mail access.

Steve Jobs honored posthumously with a Grammy award 



The late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs will be honored posthumously with a Grammy award for his contributions to music technology, the Recording Academy announced on Wednesday Dec 22,2011.
