IPL Team Delhi daredevils Have changed There name to Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals will host Chennai Super Kings at the Feroz Shah Kotla in the fifth match of the Indian Premier League on Tuesday. Both teams played contrasting matches in their IPL openers as Delhi Capitals (DC) had a high-scoring affair against Mumbai Indians while Chennai Super Kings (CSK) chased a low total of 70 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). However, they have one thing in common as both CSK and DC were utterly dominant against their opponents.
Shikhar Dhawan, Colin Ingram and Rishabh Pant were in great form for the Delhi Capitals against MI while bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Ishant Sharma managed to dismiss the hosts. Pant was particularly impressive as he slammed 78 runs off 27 balls against Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium.
On the other hand, CSK spinners single-handedly dismissed the RCB batting unit. Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja spun a web around the visitors as they picked up all the wickets in the match for the hosts. With the next assignment on a slow Kotla pitch, MS Dhoni will be hoping for his spinners to be in top form. Before the two teams take the field on Tuesday, let’s take a look at all the important statistics-
1. Both the teams have played 18 matches against each other in the Indian Premier League. CSK have an overwhelming advantage in the head-to-head meetings as they have won 12 matches while DC (formerly Delhi Daredevils) have claimed only 6 victories.
2. In matches played at the Feroz Shah Kotla, CSK has trumped the home side 4 times. DC has only 2 wins against the Dhoni-led franchise at their home ground. Last year, CSK scored 211 runs at Kotla to emerge victorious by 13 runs.
3. The honour of taking the most wickets in this fixture goes to Ravichandran Ashwin. He has picked up 17 wickets when playing against Delhi for CSK. He also has the highest number of wickets in DC vs CSK matches at Kotla with 5. But Ashwin is now the captain of Kings XI Punjab, so Delhi batsmen don’t have to worry about him.
4. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has scored the most number of runs in this particular fixture. He fancies the Delhi bowling line up and has scored 444 runs against them. Last year, the former Indian skipper had scored 51 runs off just 22 balls against Delhi. He had hit 2 fours and 5 huge sixes as CSK ran out the winners.
