She now has the best tally in the format after 84 matches at an average of 37.20, with the best score of 97.

In July 2017, Mithali also broke the record for most runs in Women One-Day Internationals during the World Cup game against Australia. On scoring 69 runs off 114 balls during this historic game, she become the first woman in cricket history to score 6000 in ODI.

A pro at breaking records, the skipper has also recorded the most half-century by any women cricketer in One-Day International cricket. She scored her 50th half-century in April 2018, during the ODI between India and England by taking 175 total innings to reach the milestone.

Mithali achieved the milestone of being the most capped player when she her team onto the field for the first match of the ICC Women’s Championship ODI series in April. She picked her 192nd cap in this historic match, almost two decades since making her debut for India in June 1999 against Ireland.

Apart from these path-breaking achievements, she also has other notable ones under her belt. Becoming the youngest to score a hundred in women's ODIs at 16 years, 205 days, being the only player to have captained India in more than one ICC ODI World Cup final and playing the longest streak of consecutive ODI matches (109) between 2003 and 2013.
