When we hear of cross-border infiltration, we mostly think of terrorists
entering India.
However, of the 2,200 people that illegally crossed the borders in 2016, the bulk of them appeared to be economic migrants.
Most of them were apprehended along the border with Bangladesh.
Most infiltrators came from Bangladesh and Myanmar as is clear from states (on eastern border) where maximum arrests took place.
