London Underground workers went on strike in protest at plans to close Tube ticket offices Tuesday April 29,2014

Commuters were caught up in travel chaos this morning Tuesday April 29,2014 as London Underground workers went on strike in protest at plans to close Tube ticket offices.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport Union(RMT Union) walked out for 48 hours at 9pm last night, while disruption is also set to continue next week.

Passengers have been told services will start later and finish earlier during this week's strike, which will be followed by a three-day stoppage from 9pm next Monday.

This morning senior Tories said the strike was ‘economic sabotage’, and called on Labour leader Ed Miliband to stand up to the unions.
