World Refugee Day, observed June 20 each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the situation of Refugees throughout the World
On 4 December 2000, the UN General Assembly in Resolution 55/76 decided that, from 2001, 20 June would be celebrated as World Refugee Day.
Each year on June 20th the United Nations, UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and countless civic groups around the world celebrate World Refugee Day in order to draw the public's attention to the millions of Refugees and Internally displaced Personsworldwide who have been forced to flee their homes due to war, conflict and persecution
Each year, UNHCR announces a theme for its World Refugee Day campaign

Year 2009 - Home
Year 2010 - 1 refugee forced to flee is too many
Year 2012 - 1 family forced to flee is too many
