Joe Carter and Brett Hampton wrote their names in the history with a scintillating batting display for Northern Districts in New Zealand's domestic one-day cricket match, smashing 43 runs off a single over.
The unfortunate bowler to receive the battering was Central Districts medium pacer Willem Ludick, who not only gave away 41 runs in the over but bowled two no balls to make it worse for himself.
In the over of 43 runs, two came from the no balls. Hampton struck 23 runs while Carter scored 18 runs off the last three deliveries.
In the first class match at the Hamilton's Seddon Park, Hampton began the over with a boundary, struck two sixes off two consecutive no ball deliveries, struck another six before taking a single to give the strike to Carter.
Carter made the best of the momentum with Northern Districts and struck three more sixes to take the tally of the 46th over to 43 runs.
