  • Their only home defeat by the Hornets was in the League Cup in 1978.
  • United have also won 13 of the last 14 meetings in all competitions, the exception being a 3-1 defeat at Vicarage Road in September 2016.
Manchester United
  • Manchester United have guaranteed second place, their best league finish for five years since they won the title under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2012-13.
  • They are 12 points better off than at this stage last season, when they had 66 points from 37 games. They've also scored 15 more goals.
  • The Red Devils have kept 18 clean sheets this season, more than any other Premier League side.
  • United haven't drawn a league game this calendar year (W11, L4).
  • This will be the 500th Premier League game at Old Trafford.
  • Alexis Sanchez has scored three goals and registered three assists in four Premier League games against Watford.
Watford
  • Watford's win over Newcastle last weekend was their first in eight games (D2, L5).
  • The Hornets have gone eight games without keeping a clean sheet and failed to score in their last eight away games.
  • They have also lost all of their away games against teams in the top six this season, conceding 17 goals and scoring just three.
  • Watford's only Premier League away goal in 2018 was scored by Andre Gray in a 3-1 defeat at Manchester City in January.
  • This is the first time the Hornets will finish a top-flight campaign away from home since 1987-88, when they lost 2-1 at Luton Town.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head
  • Southampton have won just one of the last nine meetings, drawing two and losing six.
  • However, City have only won two of their last six visits to Southampton, drawing two and losing two.
Southampton
  • Saints have won two of their last three Premier League matches; their previous two league victories had taken 22 attempts.
  • They are unbeaten in four league games, winning two and drawing two, having lost the previous four.
  • Only West Brom (18) have earned fewer points at home than Saints' tally of 19 this season.
  • Their record Premier League defeat is 7-1, away at Everton and Liverpool in November 1996 and January 1999 respectively.
  • They have lost three of their seven league games since Mark Hughes took over, winning two and drawing two.
Manchester City
  • City's tally of 105 goals, 97 points and 31 victories are all Premier League records for a single campaign.
  • They could become the first team to reach 100 points in an English top-flight campaign. The record - based on three points for a win - is held by Liverpool, who claimed the equivalent of 98 points across 42 games in 1978-79.
  • Victory would set a top-flight record of 32 in a season, eclipsing Tottenham's tally of 31 from 1960-61.
  • Pep Guardiola's side are two goals shy of the club record 107 they scored in the top flight in 1936-37.
  • City are unbeaten in their last five matches, winning four and scoring 15 goals.
  • Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane lead the Premier League in assists this season, with 15 each.
Manchester City ended an incredible season with a record 100 points after victory at Southampton, who secured Premier League survival despite losing

Substitute Gabriel Jesus struck with virtually the last kick of the game to spark wild celebrations on City's bench at St Mary's.

"Maybe this record will be broken but it will be difficult," said Guardiola after his side finished 19 points ahead of nearest rivals Manchester United.

"What can I say, 100 points! We won 50 points at home and 50 away. It's massive. One hundred points is magnificent."
