2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election - Prime Minister Narendra Modi Addresses a gathering at Moradabad District in Uttar Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing at BJP's Parivaratan Rally in Moradabad

Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured that those having Jan Dhan accounts need not worry in the wake of demonetisation.

Addressing a gathering at Moradabad district in Uttar Pradesh, Modi said: 'Those who have deposited black money in Jan Dhan accounts will not be pardoned.

'Whoever has deposited unaccounted money in your accounts, do not withdraw a rupee from it.'

'See how they plead and fall at your feet. If they threaten you, tell them that you will write a letter to Modi.'

The Prime Minister further added: 'If you promise you won't withdraw the money or return it to them, I promise I will find a way to send these people to jail and you can retain the money.'

'If we can give power to the poor, poverty can end tomorrow. This is my country's strength. The poor don't beg, they give.
'The rich are now pleading the poor. The honest are queuing outside banks and the rich are secretly queuing up outside the houses of the poor, requesting them to deposit their money in their Jan Dhan accounts,' he added.

He made a dig at the Opposition which has denounced the surprise decision to recall nearly 86 per cent of the currency in circulation that has caused an unprecedented cash crunch in India.
