Auto strike hits normal life in Mumbai,Maharashtra,India Monday February 15,2016

 
Mumbaikars, especially those in the suburbs, faced a tough time, Monday, due to a strike by the auto rickshaw union.

The auto rickshaw drivers are protesting over raised fees for issuing auto permits – Hiked to Rs 15,000 from earlier Rs 200 .

The union has also demanded a to stop services of app-based cabs like Ola, besides seeking curbs on 'illegal' buses plying in Mumbai.

Union leader Shashank Rao said that they have been forced to go on strike as their protests have fell on deaf ears.

The strike by over 1 lakh auto drivers has hit the last mile connectivity even as BEST has introduced more buses to compensate for the absence of autos
.
People have also resorted to car pooling to save themselves of the inconvenience
