2015 ICC Cricket World Cup - Another World Cup to forget for Scotland as they return winless

In many ways, this might appear to be another World Cup to forget for Scotland.

Like in their two previous attempts in 1999 and 2007, the Scots are returning home without a win against their name.

They had their moments, especially against Afghanistan when they watched the last-wicket pair steal victory, and slightly less so against Bangladesh when they posted 318 for 8, but against the big boys, they have found themselves well out of their depth.

One of the main reasons for that is a lack of exposure to top-flight cricket on a consistent basis. Unlike other associates, who have demanded more matches against the Test nations in order to improve their own standards, Scotland's template is different.

They are intent on putting the onus on themselves by qualifying for the major ICC tournaments as often as possible, because they are aware that their improvement lies in their own hands.
