A
series of activities marked the second anniversary of the horrific
December 16 gang-rape and murder of a 23-year-old woman in the national
Capital.
On
Tuesday Dec 16,2014, youths and activists held protests while political leaders
urged the government to carry out effective measures to curb crimes
against women.

Parishad (ABVP) organised a candle march at Jantar Mantar on Tuesday
evening
Delhi BJP’s women wing held a programme in Connaught
Place and initiated a campaign for taking women’s opinion on their
security and connecting them with the party
A peaceful protest was organised by
Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) at Jantar Mantar against
rising incidents of rape and molestation.
The DYFI had also organised two
month-long campaigns, ‘Sun Raha Hai Na Tu’, to create awareness about
sexual atrocities. The group staged live plays in moving DTC buses and
distributed pamphlets.

The Nirbhaya fund that
earmarked Rs 1,000 crore in 2013 and 2014 is left unspent by both the
UPA and NDA. Also, not a single Nirbhaya centre is ready
