Raghubar Das takes his oath as Jharkhand's first non-tribal Chief Minister

BJP leader Raghubar Das took his oath on Sunday Dec 28,2014 as Jharkhand’s first non-tribal chief minister, at the Birsa Munda football stadium in Ranchi.

Governor Syed Ahmed administered the oath of office and secrecy to Das as the 10th chief minister of the state.
Four ministers - three from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) - including former speaker of Jharkhand Assembly C.P. Singh, Dumka MLA Louis Marandi, Khunti MLA Neelkanth Singh Munda and one from the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Chandra Prakash Choudhary, were also sworn in.

Raghubar Das, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign, kicked off a cleanliness programme immediately after the swearing-in ceremony ended. The drive started from Kantatoli Chowk.

While cleaning the roads with a broom, Das said: “Soon Jharkhand would be counted as ‘the clean and green Jharkhand’ among other states following our hero Modiji’s clean India programme.”
