MNS announce candidates Saturday March 08,2014
MNS chief Raj Thackeray has announced candidates for the Lok Sabha polls and also declared his party's support for BJP's prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi.
"We will contest the Lok Sabha elections. I will show my party's strength during the elections. We will support Narendra Modi for the PM's post. Modi should become the Prime Minister of the country," said Raj addressing his party workers on the eighth foundation day of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) at the Shanmukhananda hall

19 constituencies across Maharashtra with an estimated 3.25 crore electorate will go to polls to decide the fate of 358 candidates including 24 women and 201 independents, including Union Minister Sushilkumar Shinde contesting from Solapur, former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan contesting from Nanded and senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde contesting from Beed
Supriya Sule (Baramati) and Nilesh Rane (Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg)- are seeking their second term

Indian Youth Congress chief Rajiv Satav, who is currently a legislator, is making a debut in electoral politics from Hingoli.
About 3,24,27,558 electorate in constituencies of western Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan are eligible to cast their votes
Voters include 1,69,54,391 men and 1,53,77,605 women. There are 306 voters in the others category and 95,256 in the service category.
Beed constituency has the maximum number of 39 candidates, while Baramati has the lowest with 9
Electorate-wise, the largest constituency is Maval with 19,46,127 voters, while the smallest one is Ratnagiri- Sindhudurg (13,63,957)
BSP has fielded candidates in all the 19 constituencies, followed by NCP which is contesting 10, Congress 9, Shiv Sena 8, BJP 7, MNS 2, CPI and CPM one each
There are 36,879 polling stations, where 44,254 EVMs will be used for voting.
Nearly 2,76,592 polling personnel will be deployed during the voting process.
The 19 constituencies that goes to poll are -
- Hingoli, Nanded, Beed, Parbhani, Osmanabad and Latur in Marathwada
- Pune, Baramati, Shirur, Maval, Solapur, Madha, Sangli, Satara, Kolhapur, Hathkanangale in Western Maharashtra
- Shirdi, Ahmednagar in North Maharashtra and
- Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg in Konkan.
As many as 3.18 crore voters will exercise their franchise in Maharashtra on April 24 on 19 Lok Sabha seats to determine the fate of 338 candidates
Out of the 338 candidates in the electoral fray, 149 are independents and 26 are women.
The 19 constituencies that goes to poll are -
- Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon, Raver,Dindori, Nashik in North Maharashtra
- Jalna, Aurangabad in Marathwada, Palghar, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, Thane in Thane district
- Mumbai North, Mumbai North Central, Mumbai South Central, Mumbai South and Mumbai North East in Mumbai and
- Raigad in Konkan.
Out of the total 3,17,39,442 voters, 1,70,20,383 are men and 1,46,22,713 are women. The others category has 700 and service 95,646 voters.
Aurangabad has the highest number of 27 candidates while Nandurbar has the lowest number of 9
Thane with 20,72,476 voters is the largest parliamentary seat while Mumbai South central with 14,46,979 is the smallest
BJP is contesting 11, Shiv Sena 8, Congress10, NCP 8, MNS 7, CPI 2 , CPM 3. BSP 19 seats.
