Railway Reservation Period Reduced to 60 Days from 120 Days wef May 1,2013

The Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation(IRCTC)have cut by half to 60 days, the maximum period for advanced reservation of tickets with effect from May 1,2013

Foreign tourists would continue to enjoy the facility of booking ticket 360 days in advance

However, tickets booked up to April 30 under the 120-day reservation period would be valid, says a railway circular

It was in March 2012 that the Railways increased the advance reservation period from 90 to 120 days
