Carlos Fuentes International Prize

Carlos Fuentes International Prize for Literary Creation in the Spanish Language  is a literary award established in 2012 by the Mexican government in honor of Mexican Author Carlos Fuentes.
The Prize(US$250000) is awarded every year on Nov. 11, the birthday of  Carlos Fuentes


Jury
The jury is composed of 7 people -
a member of Spain’s Royal Academy of the Spanish Language
a member from the Mexican Spanish-language Academy
a member from Academy in Latin America or the Philippines and
4 additional academic or literary figures from Mexico


 Mario Vargas Llosa wins 2012 Carlos Fuentes Prize

Acclaimed writer and Nobel Laureate Mario Vargas Llosa was named Monday as the winner of the inaugural Carlos Fuentes International Prize. The $250,000 cash award went to the Peruvian-born Llosa "for the contribution he has made in the Spanish language to enrich the heritage of mankind",
