Cameroon, officially the Republic of Cameroon is a Country in West Central Africa.The country is called "Africa in miniature" for its geological and cultural diversity.Cameroon is home to over 200 different linguistic groups.
Cameroon is divided into 10 semi-autonomous regions, each under the administration of an elected Regional Council .Each Region is Headed by a Governor appointed by the President of Cameroon.

History
With the defeat of Germany in World War I, Kamerun became a League of Nations Mandate Territory and was split into - French Cameroon and British Cameroon in 1919.
The League of Nations mandates were converted into UN Trusteeships in 1946, and the question of independence became a pressing issue in French Cameroon.
The British administered the British Cameroon Territory from neighbouring Nigeria.In British Cameroons, the question was whether to reunify with French Cameroun or join Nigeria.
On 1 January 1960 at 2:30 am, French Cameroun gained independence from France under President Ahmadou Ahidjo.On 1 October 1961, the formerly British Southern Cameroons united with French Cameroun to form the Federal Republic of Cameroon .

Cameroon is a Unitary Presidential Republic where the President is Head of State and Head of Govt and of a Multi Party System.
Executive Power is exercised by the Govt.

Legislative Power is exercised both by the Govt and the National Assembly of Cameroon.The 180-member National Assembly meets in ordinary session three times a year (March/April, June/July, and November/December)Laws are adopted by majority vote of members present or, if the president demands a second reading, of a total membership.
