Mount Etna( located above the Sicilian town of Catania) spews volcanic ash during an eruption on the southern Italian island of Sicily January 5, 2012. The eruption sent out out a 5000-metre-high column of volcanic ash.
No risk to villages nearby and air traffic remained normal
Mount Etna is Europe’s tallest and most active volcano - 3,295m (10,810ft)
