India's Mohammed Siraj makes forgettable ODI debut at Adelaid aginst Australia Tuesday Jan 15,2019

Mohammed Siraj, 2nd most expensive figures by an Indian bowler on ODI debut

Mohammed Siraj was handed over his ODI debut against Australia in the second game at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday Jan 15,2019

He replaced the left-arm seamer Khaleel Ahmed in the line-up who looked stiff and was also ordinary with the ball in the series opener.

He was the first change bowler for the Men in Blue and was straightaway attacked by the home side. The likes of Usman Khawaja and Shaun Marsh were all over Siraj as the debutant was too short. Whenever the pacer pitched the ball up, he was threatening but may be Siraj was too nervous on his debut and looked under-cooked. After a poor first spell, Kohli opted for spin from both the ends and held him back for the death overs.
The record, though, is held by Karsan Ghavri hold ended up leaking 83 runs in 11 overs on ODI debut against England in 1975 at Lord’s.
Mohammed Siraj has played three T20Is for India from which he has managed a solitary wicket while conceding runs at 12.33 an over. In List A cricket, his career record stands at 56 wickets from 31 matches an an average of 22.92 and economy rate of 5.47.
Mohammed Siraj like his first T20I, endured a poor outing in the field, conceding 76 runs in his 10 overs and also went wicketless during his spell.
