2019 Jind Assembly By-Election in Haryana - BJP's Krishan Middha defeated nearest rival Digvijay Singh Chautala of Jannayak Janata Party by 12,935 votes Thursday Jan 31,2019

BJP's Krishan Middha defeated nearest rival Digvijay Singh Chautala of Jannayak Janata Party by 12,935 votes in the Jind bypoll.

Congress' Randeep Singh Surjewala settled at the third spot with 22740 votes.

The Jind bypoll is being seen as a test of the popularity of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar ahead of the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

The bypoll, which saw a voter turnout of 75.77 per cent, was necessitated following the death of INLD legislator Hari Chand Midha last year.

Voting took place on January 282019, with nearly 76 per cent of the 1.72 lakh voters exercising their franchise in the multi-cornered contest.
