Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, AAP ministers stage sit-in protest at L-G’s residence Monday June 11,2018

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday June 11,2018 launched a sit-in protest at Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal’s residence, vowing not to leave until the L-G asks protesting IAS officers to resume work in the national capital.

Kejriwal -- who met Baijal at Raj Bhavan with deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Satender Jain and Gopal Rai -- said on Twitter that the L-G had refused the Delhi government’s demands. “Handed him this letter. LG refuses to take action. LG is under constitutional duty to act. Left wid no option, we have politely told LG that we will not leave till he acts on all points. We hv come out of his chamber n sitting in his waiting room (sic).”

Kejriwal’s demands include punishing the IAS officers who have been boycotting meetings with AAP ministers for four months after the alleged assault on chief secretary Anshu Prakash by the party’s leaders. AAP had called the allegations against it bizarre.

“In the history of independent India, this is the first time that IAS officers on strike for four months. Why?” Kejriwal questioned in another tweet.

He also demanded that the proposal for doorstep delivery of rations should be implemented as it will help people and remove corruption..

4 of us met Hon’ble LG-myself, Dy CM, Satender Jain,Gopal Rai. We presented following demands-

1. IAS officers on strike in Del for 4 months. Direct them to return to work

2. Punish those IAS who struck work for last 4 months

3. Approve doorstep delivery of rations
Earlier on Monday, the Delhi CM had accused the Centre of ‘unleashing’ the lieutenant governor, IAS officials and agencies such as the CBI, ED, I-T Department and the Delhi Police on the AAP government to stall its functioning. “The strike is being orchestrated by the PMO and coordinated by the L-G,” Kejriwal said at a press conference.

The AAP government has had several run-ins with the L-G’s office over the transfer of bureaucrats and the administrative control of the Capital.
