A victory margin of over 60,000 votes in a bypoll of Maheshtala
Assembly Constituency in south 24 Parganas district of West Bengal has
proved that the state is giving "Shobhuj" or green signal to Trinamool
Congress once again.
The massive win has come as a big morale boost for the TMC supporter base across the state.
Dulal Das, the TMC candidate registered a win by defeating former IPS officer Sujit Ghosh fielded by BJP. Dulal secured 1,04,818 votes as against 42,053 votes bagged by Ghosh. Left Front's Prabhat Chowdhury came third with 30,384 votes.
