2018 Indian Premier League(IPL)Season 11 April 07- May 27,2018 - Match 01 Mumbai Indian Vs Chennai Super Kings @ Mumbai Saturday April 07,2018

Mumbai Indian(MI) and Chennai Super Kings(CSK) — the three-time (2013,2015 & 2017)and two-time title-holders (2010 and 2011)respectively — will flex their muscles in an encounter that will also bring in a wave of nostalgia

CSK, returning after a two-year suspension, maintained its core squad with Murali Vijay back at the top of the order. Its last game in the IPL, coincidentally, was against the same side in the final of 2015. The men in yellow have retained old faces who are expected to fire their bullets. It is still not clear who will open the batting for CSK, but it has options in Vijay, Sam Billings and Shane Watson to name a few.

Watson, the experienced IPL customer, will also play the all-rounder’s role along with Dwayne Bravo, another old-timer. CSK’s middle-order duties will depend on Suresh Raina, who looked in good touch at the nets. Lungi Ngidi and Faf du Plessis have joined the franchise but the South African skipper will not be available for the opener. He is nursing injuries he picked in the long summer back home.

Apart from skipper Rohit Sharma, MI will also rely on players who form their focal point. The franchise played its trump card (Right To Match) at the auctions, bringing back Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya, who is always an underdog for his batting abilities down the order.

There is, of course, Hardik Pandya — the gutsy all-rounder to take stock of the middle order. India’s death bowling specialist Jasprit Bumrah will lead the MI bowling attack. But all eyes will be on Ishan Kishan, the southpaw from Jharkhand who may open the batting.

CSK had a two-hour net session before the ground was invaded by a troop of entertainers to prepare for what is likely to be a glitzy opening ceremony.

MI is known to be a poor starter; it has lost five of its opening fixtures. But CSK does not have a great record here. The M. S. Dhoni-led team has managed only two wins out of seven games at the Wankhede.

2018 IPL Season 11 Match 03 @ Kolkata Sunday April 08,2018  KKR beat RCB by 4 Wickets

CSK won the toss and chose to field

Scorecard
MI                      176/7 in 20 Overs
CSK                   177/6 in 18.5 Overs
Match Result     KKR won by 1 wicket
MOM                 Dwayne Bravo(CSK) for his 68(30 Balls 4x3 and 6x7)

Talk about comebacks and CSK would give you a perfect script. Playing the IPL after a gap of two seasons, CSK made a winning returning to the league, beating the defending champions Mumbai Indians by one wicket in the Indian Premier League opener.

Chasing a total of 166, Chennai were in trouble with 7 down in the 15th over but then Dwayne Bravo scored a fifty and brought them back.

CSK needed 27 off two overs when Bravo, single-handedly made it 7 needed off 7 balls. He was dismissed at this moment

Kedar Jadhav, injured due to a hamstring, came in to bat and hit a six off the fourth ball of the final over and then a four to seal the game.

Earlier Mayank Markande had derailed CSK with a stunning spell of spin bowling

Although MI’s opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Evin Lewis departed cheaply, it was the two uncapped batsmen who built the team’s steady innings. Suryakumar Yadav top-scored with a 29-ball 43 with 4x6 and 6x1, while Ishan Kishan struck 40 off 29 balls with 4x4 and 6x1.

The Pandya Brother Hardik 22*(20 Ball 4x2)and Krunal 41*( 22 Balls 4x5 and 6x2)put on an unbeaten 52 Run partnership
