Maine Pyaar Kiya



Maine Pyaar Kiya showcased 'Prem' as a dedicated lover and the on-screen chemistry between Salman and his actress Bhagyashree made love flow in the air. With perfect music and Sallu's character as a cherry topping, the movie bagged 7 awards out of 13 nominations.

Hum Aapke Hain Kaun




The film hit the theatres on August 5, 1994, but had people stayed fixed for 3 hours 43 minutes. Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, with one of the longest running time, featured Salman as Prem-The Lover Boy. With Madhuri Dixit as the female lead, the love story experienced a 'new heat'. This proved instrumental in setting the image of 'Prem' as an unconditional lover. Hum Aapke Hain Kaun won 5 Filmfare Awards and also won the National Award for being the most popular film of the year. Salman's acting started to rule the viewers' hearts, especially lovers. One of his famous dialogue from the movie that his fans remember by heart goes as, "Kaate Nahin Kat Te Lamhe Intezaar Ke, Nazaren Bichaein Baithe Hain Raste Pe Yaar Ke, Dil Ne Kaha Dekhe Jo Jalwe Husne Yaar Ke, Laya Hai Kaun Unhe Falak Se Utaar Ke…"

Judwaa




With Salman's back-to-back hits, people started to eagerly wait for Prem's appearances. Salman took good care of his fans as Judwaa came out in 1997, starring Salman as...any guesses? Yes, as 'Prem'! Being Sallu's first double role, he doubled the excitement in the viewers. It was a delight to watch the hilarious double role sported by Salman.

Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya




'Suraj Khanna' aka 'Our Shirtless superhero' aka 'Sallu Mia' blew the minds of his audience with his kickass entry in Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya in 1998. 'Suraj plays a goofy student in the movie who falls in love with Kajol, 'Muskan'. Our lover boy 'Suraj' leaves no stone unturned in winning Muskan's heart, be it convincing her possessive brother or strict uncle. The famous O O Jaane Jaana song with super-catchy lyrics, moving music and of course, everyone's favourite 'shirtless' Salman took his fan following to a whole new level.

Biwi No.1




After setting the lovey-dovey image in the audience's minds, Salman wanted a spin. He portrayed his acting skills and versatility by playing a disloyal husband which was a surprise to his viewers but the charm never faded. Being the biggest hit in 1999, "Biwi No.1" came out as a family-fun movie. 

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam




Sallu as Sameer in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam filled his viewers' hearts with all sorts of emotions. A 1999 Sanjay Leela Bhansali film let the audience embrace Salman's funny and flirty side, they were totally into his character when tears of separation rolled down from his eyes. That happens later in the movie when Salman and Aishwarya Rai, 'Nandini' have to undergo separation. Drenched tissue papers paid testimony to the feelings absorbed by the viewers. 

Tere Naam



We often say that people turn mad in love, well it got real in Salman Khan's Tere Naam. Released in 2003, Salman's character as 'Radhe' has been recorded as one of his splendid performances till date. 'Radhe' is seen as a rude scoundrel of the locality who falls in love with a shy and timid girl (Bhoomika Chawla). His vulnerability and emotional outbursts throughout the movie leave you feeling uneasy and emotional. His injuries and mental instabilities in the latter part of the movie fills the viewers' with pity and empathy.

Wanted





Another film that featured Salman as 'Radhe' was Wanted that came out in 2009. It included a series of top notch action sequences, where 'Radhe' was portrayed as an anti-hero in the starting to be later revealed as the real hero. He is shown as a responsible officer who gives priority to his Nation above anything else, even if it his charming girlfriend 'Jhanvi' (Ayesha Takia). Defeating the corrupts and serving his duty well, the audience rejoiced his valour.


Dabangg



'Inspector Chulbul Panday' in Dabangg was one of the few times when the viewers loved somebody in a police's uniform. His strong build and amusingly-classy personality proved to be a treat for the viewers. Dabangg, released in 2010, served as a turning point in Salman's career. The audience went head-over-heels for 'Panday Ji' who spilt his charisma with his walk, his actions, his dance moves and powerful dialogues in the film.

Bodyguard





"Bodyguard Lovely Singh reporting Madam", marked Salman's starring in Bodyguard in the year 2011. He is shown as a respectful bodyguard who has been appointed for 'Divya' (Kareena Kapoor). He falls in love with a girl he has never met, unaware that she is none other than Divya. As the plot unveils, the viewers celebrate the happy ending and this adds to another of Sallu Bhai's hits in the list.

Ekk Tha Tiger





Salman is shown as a RAW agent 'Tiger' who is sent on a secret mission to observe an Indian scientist who is suspected of sharing nuclear secrets with the ISI. He meets 'Zoya' (Katrina Kaif) and falls for her. It is heart throbbing when her dark secret comes to light and 'Tiger' gets his heartbroken. Ekk Tha Tiger, made its way to the theatres in 2012. Its ear-soothing music, good storyline and 'Tiger's magic made it a hit, giving Salman's fans yet another piece of the pie to relish on.

Dabangg 2





When one is not enough, Salman comes back with a bang for the 'extra fun delivery'. The first movie to be directed by Indian Producer Arbaaz Khan, "Dabangg 2" was released on 21st December. 'Chulbul’s life is shaken up when he meets underworld don/aspiring politician Thakur Bachcha Lal (Prakash Raj) who threatens to ruin the perfect family lifestyle Chulbul has always desired for. The fun starts when 'Chulbul' with his kicks and boxes, brings his life back to perfect.

Kick



Salman's appearance as 'Devi Lal Singh' aka 'DEVIL' filled the viewers with much interest and surprise. With Salman's energy and positivity,Kick became a successful hit. Some dialogues from the film still linger in our minds, "Mere bare mein itna mat sochna ... dil mein aata hoon ... samajh mein nahi" and "Woh jeena bhi koi jeena hai jis mein kick na ho!"

Bajrangi Bhaijaan



'Bajrangi' came as the innocent Hanuman devotee in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, who won sympathy from the audience when he was brutally beaten up by the cops. His emotional acting could literally bring shivers down ones' body. The climax of the story backed up by Sallu Mia's 'tadkas' keep one engaged till the end.

Sultan





Salman's latest hit, Sultan featuring him as 'Sultan Ali Khan' exposes the soft side of the character which will easily melt your heart. He plays his age and dons the role of a guy who is smitten by a more successful female wrestler (Anushka Sharma) and does whatever it takes to win her love, even learning wrestling and eventually becoming a champion. The perfect fusion of a fantastic lover, a caring husband, an aspiring sportsman is something we haven't seen the actor pulling off in a long time.
