Mass wedding ceremony sees 34 couples tie the knot in Afghanistan

A mass wedding ceremony in Afghanistan saw 34 couples tie the knot as they shared their special day with other lovebirds.

The huge group celebration took place in the province of Herat in western Afghanistan yesterday thanks to a local charity.

Ziarat-e-Del, which translates to Pilgrimage of Heart, organises the event every year for couples who cannot afford to get married individually.

Among those to get hitched were seven disabled and two blind couples.
