Jaguar Land Rover India has launched the 2 litre petrol derivative of the Land Rover Discovery Sport in India at a price tag of Rs 56.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The powertrain option will be available in HSE Trim and is capable of delivering a power output of 237 horsepower. This is in addition to the 2.2 litre TD4 & SD4 diesel derivatives already on sale in India since September 2015.
Introduced with a 5+2 seating option, the Discovery Sport offers technologies like Hill Descent Control (HDC), Roll Stability Control (RSC), Electronic Traction Control (ETC), Dynamic Stability Control (DCS), Adaptive Xenon Headlamps, Panoramic Sunroof, multiple USB charging points, park assist and Land Rover's trademark "All Terrain Capability".
The decision to roll out a petrol variant will allow for a larger variety of options available to the potential Discovery Sport buyer as the new variant offers much more power as compared to the Diesel variant, which puts out 147.5 horsepower.
